Dr Thomas MUELLER (SERIS) was born and educated in Germany and the USA. He holds a BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Dortmund, Germany, and obtained his PhD degree in 2009 from University of Hagen, Germany, with highest commendation. His PhD work won the 2009 SolarWorld ‘Junior Einstein’ Award. In 2010, he joined SERIS as the head of the Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group. He has thirteen years of experience in the PV sector, with expertise in high-efficiency cell fabrication and analysis, industrial solar cell process development, and PV manufacturing tool assessment. He has (co)authored over 50 scientific papers and holds more than 10 patents in the area of silicon wafer solar cells. Since 2015, he is the Co-Director of SERIS’ Silicon Materials and Cells Cluster and Head of the Heterojunction Silicon Wafer Solar Cell Group.
