演讲时间:  5月28日

Ralf Preu, is director of the division for PV Production Technology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in Freiburg, Germany. He studied physics at the universities of Freiburg, Germany and Toronto, Canada and economics at the University of Hagen. He holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering. He joined Fraunhofer ISE in 1993 and has worked in different fields in PV including system monitoring, silicon solar cell and module technology, characterization and simulation. His main focus is research and development of advanced silicon solar cell technology and its transfer to industrial production. He has received several awards including the Fraunhofer Prize in 2016 for the development of the Laser Fired Contact Technology and teaches photovoltaics at the university of Freiburg.
演讲摘要: The approach of passivated emitter and rear solar cells has passed the critical hurdle to become a main stream technology with a world production capacity of several 10 GWp/a. Any new main stream technology is challenged by up runners which promise to be lower in cost and/or more efficient and/or sustainable. This paper gives an analysis of future challenges and prospects of this cell concept based on modelling and experimental results. Approaches to further increase module power output with a focus on cell separation to obtain smaller currents and less shading as well as bifaciality to benefit from albedo are discussed. The increasing influence of the passivation of the device edge after separation as the open circuit voltage approaches 700 mV is shown. Losses due to inactive area can be substantially reduced by the approach of shingled passivated edge emitter and rear cells (SPEER). An increase of bifaciality to 90% can be obtained by changes in the metallization scheme of such cells.
